How is scorpion control different from general pest control?
Different products, different application zones, different timing. General pest treatments barely register against bark scorpions. Scorpion-specific products bind to the exoskeleton on contact, but the scorpion has to actually contact the treated surface — which is why placement, not volume, is what matters.

Will I see scorpions die immediately after treatment?
No. There's a buildup period — usually a few weeks — as treated surfaces accumulate enough product to affect the population. Activity typically drops noticeably by the third week and continues falling on a maintenance schedule.

What should I do if I see a scorpion after treatment?
Photograph it, note where, and call us. A single sighting after treatment isn't a failure — it usually means we missed a harborage spot. We'll come back out and treat the specific area at no cost on a Desert Defense plan.

Are the products safe for kids and pets?
Yes, once dry. We apply exterior product when the family and pets can be inside for 30 minutes. After the treated zone dries, normal use resumes. Interior products are bait-style and placed where pets can't access them.

What is a black-light inspection and do I need one?
Bark scorpions fluoresce bright green under UV light. A nighttime walkthrough with a UV flashlight tells us the actual population on your property. We recommend it for first treatments at homes with infants, elderly residents, or recent sting incidents.

Do scorpions get worse in summer or stay year-round?
Year-round in Yuma. Activity peaks in late spring through monsoon, but they're present and active every month. The Desert Defense Plus and Pro tiers maintain scorpion-specific treatment year-round so populations never re-establish.
